Description

Chilo Lock 34 Park is 39 acres and is located on the site of a former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lock and dam. The highlight of the park is the Chilo Lock 34 Visitor Center and Museum, which offers three floors of exhibits and interactive displays focusing on the history of the Ohio River, specifically its locks and dams. A 1.5-acre wetland is located in the park, providing great wildlife-watching opportunities. The park also features two picnic shelters and a steamboat-themed playground. Chilo Lock 34 Park is adjacent to Crooked Run Nature Preserve, one of three preserves operated by the Park District.
